Are there tall mountains in most directions you look? Idaho and Utah are abundant in such beautiful landscape. For these engagement pictures, we were looking for this beautiful sunset beach vibe. Idaho + Beach always equals Bear Lake! North Beach is about an hour and a half from Logan, Utah. This scenic drive will land you at the Caribbean of the north. A mile long sandy beach, beautiful bright blue water, and when that sun sets, you get this soft and creamy color scheme and beautiful light.
One of my favorite parts of shooting at North Beach, is option to get some pretty green landscape with some trees, sandy beaches and the ability to walk so far out into the lake and stay below knee level water.
My tips to shooting at north beach- give yourself extra time to commute. Especially in July, the roads through Garden City, UT can have a lot of traffic. Plan on shooting a little later than you might think. For this session, we started shooting about 7:45pm. Also, when you wait a little longer, you avoid having to work around a crowd.
An outfit change is always fun, for my ladies- a dress is a fun pop to any water session. Really makes it feel like summer love. I always recommend this next tip, but especially at the beach where there is more light reflecting back onto you, an extra bit of color on your cheeks and your LIPS prevent that washing out feeling. Even if you. never wear color like that, a little will make a big difference.
I love looking through this gallery, it really shows you a variety and what I strive to bring out in each session. Some beautiful posed photos you will love forever, some quiet, romantic and intimate photos as well as all the fun, playful and story telling photos.
What ones do you like best?
