Vintage Lilac Photo Session- Preston, Idaho Family Photos

Right along my property line are tall, 80 year old lilac bushes that blossom in the spring. The fragrant, purple flowers are stunning for so many reasons. I have been anticipating this photo session with my kids for months, and the vibe I wanted to achieve. Going for cozy, vintage, grandma style but with vibrant and modern feels. I am excited about the result, I can’t wait to share them with you! Lilac season in Idaho and Cache Valley is one of my favorites, and while I wish they could bloom all summer, the 3 weeks we had with them was stunning, we soaked it all in.

I couldn’t quite talk myself into going 100% vintage with the clothing, mostly because I hate spending money on something that is “just for pictures”. call me cheap haha. Everything came together to style this through the addictive thrifting bug I have lately. All things granny as my kids tell me. None the less, these are priceless treasures I can’t wait to hang on my wall. This post is specifically for the few minutes I spent with my girls, I am going to do a second post with the cutest pictures of one of my boys. Just to die for!

Something about the imperfection in life for me lately. The mess, the clutter. It drives me crazy 95% of the time, but when it comes to how my home feels, my goal is perfectly imperfect. Clean, cozy, but mismatched. There’s no matching dishes or furniture, dirty clothes in all the rooms, usually a pile of unfolded laundry on the bed, etc. But it already breaks my heart to think of the days when it won’t be this way. These really are the days I will remember, and it might break my heart.
