Preston, Idaho may not have a snow blanketing the ground this winter, but the season still offers a unique and stunning backdrop for an engagement session. The soft muted tones of the landscape this time of year create a natural, neutral palette thats perfect for capturing timeless and romantic moments.

While it is still cold outside, the lack of snow allows for some versatility in your photos. You could choose an open field with golden grasses swaying in the crisp winter breeze, or a rustic wooden fence that creates some striking leading lines.

While I love a good summer session, I also love a winter wardrobe. Maybe a dark colored dress and boots, or layering coats and hats. You can add a lot of texture, color and visual interest to your photos. It’s not only beautiful, but it also keeps you warm. There is something about the neutral color of nature that really makes you stand out in your photos too.

Devony & Kaden’s engagement session was a mini session, it was perfect to get the photos they wanted to send out announcements, and use for decorating their future house together.
