Hatch Family | Cache Valley & Bear Lake Family Photographer

The Hatch Family is one of my favorite returning clients! I’ve been photographing their family for many years—back when their youngest was just a toddler. One of the most rewarding parts of being a family photographer in Cache Valley and Bear Lake is watching families grow and change through the years.

A fun full-circle moment: within just a few weeks this season, I had the chance to photograph families of both of my former bosses. The Hatch family is one of them! Trevor hired me at a Preston, Idaho medical clinic when I was first married, and it’s always a joy to catch up with old friends like him and his family.

For this session, we focused on efficiency and fun. As kids get older, shorter photo sessions become perfect—they’re quick, natural, and still packed with great moments. Each of the Hatch kids got an individual portrait, their married daughter received updated headshots with her husband, and of course we captured those classic and candid family group photos. Even mom and dad got in on the fun!

We chose a location with beautiful backlight and soft shade, something I always prioritize for that consistent, warm look in my photography. The light helps everyone look their best while also keeping the photos sharp and focused.
